Dashed lines within each region indicate extensive portions of coastline that consist of low-lying stretches of sandy beach, which are unlikely to have had any copepod habitat in recent time. The location of each of these regions within California is depicted in (d) with the locations of the additional sites. Two other additional sites were included in this study from British Columbia, Canada but are not depicted on this map: Point Atkinson, West Vancouver (BC) and Ucluelet, Vancouver Island (VI).
